Common Questions about Skip Bin Hire

How full can I fill the skip bin?

  • All McSkips bins are to be level loaded only without any materials or items overhanging the top.

How long do I get to keep the bin?

  • The standard hire period for our skip bins is 7 days. However, should you require an early pick up or an extension of your hire period, this can be arranged.

How soon can you deliver my bin?

  • We require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for bin deliveries. However, if your job has a specific start time, such as a tile strip-out or demolition, we recommend ordering the bin at least a day in advance. This ensures the bin will be delivered and placed prior to the start of your project.

Do your bins have doors or ramps?

  • Yes, all our bins, except for our baby bin (1.5m³) come with an easy load ramp.

What can I put in the bin?

  • We accept all waste except asbestos, tyres and hazardous goods. Please refer to 'Filling your Bin'.

Where can I place the skip bin?

  • The skip bin can be placed anywhere on your property, provided there is access for our truck. Bins are not allowed to be placed on the road or footpath where they may obstruct other traffic, without a council permit.

What size skip will I need for my job?

  • In general, 1m³ is the equivalent of one 6x4 trailer load or approximately 10 wheelbarrow loads. If you have 8 trailer loads, you will require an 8m³ skip bin; if you only have one trailer load you will need our baby bin (1.5m³).

How do I pay for the skip?

  • We accept all major credit cards. If you wish to apply credit with us please email us on info@mcskips.com.au.

Who is responsible for the skip?

  • You, as the purchaser of the service, are responsible for the skip bin. You are responsible for how the bin is loaded and the materials loaded in the bin even if someone else has loaded the bin for you.

Can you pick my skip bin up before the end of the 7 day period?

  • Yes, if you require an early pick up please contact us.

Does McSkips work in an environmentally friendly way?

  • Where possible we separate waste products and recycle what we can to minimize the impact on landfill.

What are your opening times?

  • Our opening times are Monday to Friday 7am-5pm.

What areas do you service?

My property has been damaged where my skip has been placed, what should I do?

  • When you make a booking, you will be informed that by proceeding with the booking, you acknowledge our terms. Please note that we do not accept liability for any damage to your driveway, crossover, or landscaping. While we take all necessary care during the delivery and collection of your skip, we cannot guarantee that the location is suitable to withstand the weight of the truck or the skip.

I got my days mixed up and wasn’t home or I didn’t pick up my phone. Will I need to pay a fee?

  • If we are unable to complete the delivery or collection due to access issues, such as when specific placement instructions (e.g., behind a gate or another hard-to-access area) cannot be followed, a "wasted journey" fee will apply. To avoid this, please ensure your placement instructions are clear and accurate. If the location is difficult to describe, feel free to email us at info@mcskips.com.au with a map of the location.
